Why we built this
Most writing tools assume you start with a blank page and a clear head. Most days, neither is true. You explained it perfectly on the call. Then you sit down to write the follow-up and the words refuse to come.
Recitey starts at the moment you actually have the thought. The transcription happens on your machine using a local Whisper model. An optional cloud rewrite step on Pro polishes the rough version into something that reads like you sat down and typed it carefully.
Privacy by design
Your audio never leaves your device. The free tier is fully offline and uncapped. The cloud rewrite (Pro, opt-in) sends rough text only, never audio. Anthropic does not train on API data. We do not require an account for the free tier and we do not collect personal data there.

Recitey is currently in early access on Windows. Mac and Linux are in active development. If you are on a non-Windows machine, the homepage shows a waitlist form we will use to email you the day each platform ships.
