Plain rules for using Recitey.
Last updated: May 9, 2026
Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Recitey, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.
What Recitey is
Recitey is a Windows desktop application for voice-driven writing. Speech-to-text runs on your machine via a local Whisper model. An optional cloud rewrite step (Pro only, off by default) sends rough text, never audio, to Anthropic Claude Haiku for grammar and tone polish before insertion into your active app.
Early access
Recitey is currently in early access. The software is provided as is and may contain bugs, incomplete features, or unexpected behavior. We appreciate feedback as we improve the product. Features, pricing, and these terms may change during the early access period.
Free and Pro plans
The free tier is uncapped: no word limit, no per-month quota. Pro is $13 per month or $120 per year (a 23 percent discount on annual). Pro adds the optional cloud rewrite, tone-aware modes, command mode, and multi-device sync up to three devices.
Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We honor a 30-day refund on Pro, no questions asked, for the first paid month.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Recitey to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others. You are responsible for all content generated using the service. Automated or programmatic abuse of the cloud rewrite endpoint may result in rate limiting or account suspension.
Intellectual property
You retain full ownership of all text generated by Recitey from your voice input. We claim no rights over your content. The Recitey software, brand, and documentation are the intellectual property of Recitey and are protected by applicable laws.
Limitation of liability
Recitey is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the software, including but not limited to data loss, inaccurate transcriptions, or rewrite errors. Use professional judgment before relying on machine-generated content for critical communications.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Recitey after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
